Praise for PORTALS OF THE MIND: "From poetic to hypnotic, Stephen Wise has crafted short stories that will stay with you long after they are over. His writing takes your mind in one direction, and then turns it on it's head as the story veers into an unexpected twist. A wonderful read and hard to put down."

"Even knowing that [The Melting Man] was going to be 'horror noir', I had no idea what to expect. And it wasn't what I expected! I am a big fan of detective stories, and this is one of the best ones I have read...it is a page turner which every fan of horror, noir, and detectives should have in their library!"
